I wrote those words in 2015, for the release of an album that I had been working on during perhaps the most difficult, yet also most deeply transformative years of my life.

The album was released by my friend Jamie McCue's imprint Silent Season, on a beautiful handmade CD edition that sold out within 24 hours.

Over the years, many listeners have written to me about how much this album meant to them, and some were expressing a desire for the album to be pressed to vinyl. Since Jamie has taken a step back from Silent Season, it is with his blessing that I this year will be running a campaign through my imprint LILA लीला, to collect pledges from anyone who would like to own a limited edition vinyl copy of Purl's 'Stillpoint'.

In conjunction with this idea, years ago I also began sending invitations out to my many artist friends regarding creating new versions of the title track, asking that they follow their hearts and make this work their own. Just as not all seeds that fall in the soil end up sprouting, not all of the reworks ended up growing to the point where they could be shared (and some even became new works of their own, to be unveiled at the right time), but presently there are enough seedlings growing and grown that I can begin to unfold this saga.

'Stillpoint: Helix' is the title for this collection of reworks that will be unveiled throughout the whole year. For each month of 2024 there will be one single released, with it's audio and title added to this album and available to those who own it (each single is also available to buy and download individually within this album, and features an original artwork from each of the artists).

As soon as the vinyl campaign is ready to launch (likely in early March), it will also be shared here, and anyone pledging for the vinyl will also receive 'Stillpoint: Helix' - therefore, do not purchase this release now if you intend to pledge for the vinyl (unless, of course, you want to give extra support to Purl, LILA लीला and the charities that we support). Instead feel free to send me a message with your commitment to pledge, and I'll respond with a download code for this album.

In addition, there will be a CD edition of 'Stillpoint: Helix', and this will be exclusively available to those who pledge for the vinyl until the end of the year, when all remixes have been shared, and anyone will then be able to purchase remaining copies of the CD.

[Please note that since pre-orders on Bandcamp can not be published with a release date more than 90 days into the future, I am publishing this release now, and will be adding the audio and titles to each of the reworks as the year goes along.]
